Women’s Plus Size Long Down Commuter Coat

Women's Plus Size Long Down Commuter Coat

You’ll look professional, and you’ll also stay warm and dry, no matter what the commute — even if it’s through a snowstorm. The shell of our Women’s Down Commuter Coat feels like cotton, but it’s really waterproof, 100% nylon. The seams are tape sealed, too, so you can say goodbye to moisture. Inside, you’ll stay toasty warm, thanks to the 650 fill power goose down insulation. While it’s lofty and lightweight (you won’t feel as though you “bulked up” when you put it on), it’s also one of the toastiest grades available. We added loads of other features to keep you comfortable, like an adjustable snap-off hood, storm cuffs, pass-through pockets, two inside zip pockets and a security pocket strategically placed between the front zipper and the covered front placket. DriOff™ finish. Fits over a sweater. Machine wash. Imported.

My coat came today, I followed the size chart, and it fits perfectly. There is room for light to medium layers. The coat doesn’t feel heavy like a lot of long winter coats do. Important to me, it doesn’t feel binding in the arms or shoulders. I stepped out into cold gusty rainy weather, and didn’t feel a thing! Quality is good. Not a fashionable coat, but the sort of coat you want for a long walk to the parking lot, or a long drive home, after your car has sat outside in freezing weather. I am actually not dreading winter this year, 5 stars.

This year, we’ve had our worst winter in Chicago in years. I’ve hardly felt the cold through this coat, even when the windchills reached -25 degrees. In the past, I’ve tried wool peacoats, a multi-layer coat by Columbia and more cumbersome down coats than this one, but none can really compete with this one. It fits true-to-size, well-made and definitely worth the price.
